How CineLion was born
CineLion Productions was born out of the creative stillness of the COVID lockdowns, when a small circle of filmmakers and actors chose not to wait for the industry to restart, but to create. United around Ima von Wenden, whose short-film script Waiting for Eve captured the intimacy, conflicts, humour and emotional hardship of imposed confinement, they've brought it to life. Rooted in strong character-led storytelling, the film echoed the qualities that made last-century British cinema endure: wit, restraint, moral complexity and a deep sense of time and place.
CineLion is not a conventional production company but a cinematographic artists’ collective - independent creatives who come together for specific journeys, work together, and have fun, then continue forward inspired. What began in isolation has become an ongoing philosophy: collaborate intensely, honour craft and culture, and keep creating.
